WHY SOMETIMES WE FEEL OUR TEETH IS MORE SENSITIVE ?

SENSITIVE TEETH

are typically the result of worn out tooth enamel or exposed tooth roots. Sometimes, tooth discomfort is caused by other factors, such as a cavity, a cracked or chipped tooth, a worn filling, or gum disease.


WOMEN / FEMALE

Are more prevalent to experienced tooth sensitivity due to the increased in estrogen and progesterone hormones, causes increased blood flow to the gums causing them to be much more sensitive towards cold or heat. Hence, women gets accumulation of plaque and bacteria around the gums when the hormone levels are high.

PREGNANCY

Pregnancy and oral contraceptive which can also be a factor thats leads to swelling, bleeding, redness or tenderness on the gum tissues, this is due to increased progesterone hormones . If left untreated, ongoing inflammation in the gums can also lead to bone loss around the teeth and eventual tooth loss. So you were advised to inform your dentist if your pregnant or on oral contraceptive pills. It's safe to pay your dentist a visit during the 2nd trimester. Any abnormality noticed should be informed to avoid complications later or nearing the delivery.


MENOPAUSE

All around the world women will experience menopause and its give a huge change in a woman’s life and a woman's mouth as well. The decrease of estrogen level may cause dry mouth, ulcers, altered taste, increased sensitivity and burning mouth syndrome. To overcome this, talk to your dentist regarding your problems, and may recommend to take hormonal or vitamin therapy that often help.


CHANGE TO SOFT TOOTHBRUSH

Most dental professionals agree that a soft-bristled brush is best for removing plaque and debris from your teeth and along the gum line. You may pick whatever shape and size is most comfortable for you. The best toothbrush is one that fits your mouth and allows you to reach all teeth easily.


VISIT YOUR DENTIST

Your were advised to see your dentist at least twice a year. A regular dental check up is important because its helps to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Consider four things that happen if you don't see your dentist which is tooth decay, gum disease, stain and health problems. So, it is necessary to schedule regular dental appointments for a check up and gets professional cleaning.
