WHY DON’T WE TREAT TEETH LIKE THE REST OF OUR BODIES ?

Each individual needs teeth to complete the human body and it plays an important role. Scientific research has shown that healthy teeth have an important effect on our diet, health and overall sense of well-being. Understand the importance of oral health because it has a connection to our overall health. Hence, healthy teeth cannot be taken for granted.


Moreover, the tongue strikes the teeth or the roof of the mouth as some sounds are made. When we eat, our teeth tear, cut, and grind food in preparation for swallowing. The tongue helps push food to the teeth, and allows us to taste the food we eat. Teeth can be lost as a result of many factors such as gum disease, tooth decay, or due to an accident. The loss of teeth can be restrictive in many ways. Taking good care of our mouth, teeth and gums is a worthy goal in and of itself.




Hence, good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. Most important thing a proper oral hygiene can help you keep your teeth healthy as you get older. A healthy teeth it is also related to build our

self confident when its comes to communicates with others.



Here are some tips to help you to maintain healthy teeth...

1. Brush at least twice a day. The best time to brush teeth is 30 minutes after meals. Choose a toothbrush with a small head for better access to back teeth and also pick soft bristles because kinder on your gums.


2. Use fluoridated toothpaste. Fluoride helps to harden tooth enamel and reduces your risk of decay.


3. Brush thoroughly. Tooth brushing should take between two and three minutes.


4. Floss your teeth daily. Use a slow and gentle sawing motion.


5. Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices. Food acids soften tooth material and dissolve the minerals in tooth enamel, causing holes (cavities or caries). In severe cases, teeth may be ‘eaten’ right down to the gum.


6. Limit sugary foods. Bacteria in dental plaque change sugars into acids.


7. Protect your teeth from injury. Wear a mouth guard or full-face helmet when playing sports.
